Letter from the Editor
Dear Reader,
Welcome to Mayari’s February special issue ii, #sixwordlovestories ! Love is definitely in the air, and all around us, not simply a romantic notion, or artfully presented in a box of gourmet chocolate hearts.
Love propels us forward, gives us a beginning point of meaning, an undeniable culmination to something we perhaps would not have the courage to confront without its presence.
The Beatles famously sung, “All you need is love…” Perhaps not the entire truth, but denying it, and making room for its absence instead of its fullness? This is not an existence richly and completely lived.
In this issue, love can be playful, but also determined. It touches fingers with looming death, knowing it is kin and never far away. It shows the impact of a seemingly innocent gesture. It imparts how truly magnificent and awe-inspiring it is to simply contain it in one heart.
I hope you know love and give love.
