Mayari Literature | Volume 2 | Holiday Issue | ON A CLEAR & SILENT NIGHT
In the velvet hush of a long winter’s night, our voices join in undaunted chorus
Dear Reader,
Even the darkest night is not endless. Amidst its seeming solemnity and solitude, it carries alongside it a shining beacon, a single guiding star, the moon’s luminous, defiant face, the promise of a dazzling sun dancing at the heels of its departure. The light is all the more radiant and true for being surrounded in the moment by perfect dusk. The dark becomes a sacred, joyous archangel messenger as it heralds a hope it is yet to behold.
Trust in the long, cold night preceding a burgeoning daybreak, rhythm unbroken. Know yourself to be the miracle that spans all encompassing light turning into the utter totality of dark. Know yourself to be the bearer of faith and conviction that we will weather each temporality of season, bitter and forgiving.
At the closing of the darkest night, clarity and truth will arrive. They will endure, they will prevail. Do not lose hope.
